Forensic Box

The Ranatec high performance forensic RF shield box is designed for protection and analysis of devices that includes radio transceivers and transmitters. It is used to block all wireless signals like WiFi, Bluetooth, 2G, 3G, LTE and 5G, where a forensic box is typically used by law enforcement, crime investigators, and IT forensics.

The Ranatec forensic box is equipped with RF shielded gloves and a shielded window. For analysis and charging, the forensic box can include AC, USB, LAN, and HDMI interfaces. In addition, it can be equipped with ventilation and a fan, making it possible to analyze devices that generate significant heat.

FAQ

A forensic enclosure, also referred to as a forensic faraday box or simply “forensic box” for short, is a type of forensic analysis enclosure with shielding abilities to protect against external radio frequency (RF) signals. It blocks wireless communication – such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and cellular signals – preventing remote wiping, tampering, or data alteration of seized electronic devices during analysis.

A forensic box, also sometimes called Faraday box, isolates electronic devices (like phones, tablets, laptops) from external signals. It prevents wireless interference, tampering, and remote wiping, ensuring data integrity during forensic investigations.

A forensic RF shielded box is suitable for applications such as protecting wireless devices from being hacked, storing wireless devices (evidence) collected at crime scenes and for analysis of signal jammers.

The forensic box is, as the name suggests, pretty much only used within the forensic industry. It is an RF shield box specifically designed for forensics technicians to be able to perform electronic device interrogations.

  • Signal Blocking: Blocks all wireless signals.
  • Gloved Access Ports: Allows manipulation of devices inside without opening.
  • Clear Viewing Window: Provides visibility of the device’s screen without exposure.
  • Ventilation: Prevents device overheating.

Ports for Power/Data Transfer: Maintains battery and enables secure data extraction.
